Is there any hope? Yes…kind of.

This month, the feds passed a continuing resolution that pushed the ban back from Nov. 11th to Dec. 11th, which gets it passed midterm elections. Even though multiple bills to legalize and regulate hemp have been kicked around Washington for months, none have gained any steam in spite of bipartisan support. The vast majority of our elected officials don’t want to hand over any sort of win right before midterms, even if it means killing an entire industry by sitting on their hands.

Gotta love politics…

But that doesn’t mean it’s gone for good. Post midterms, the rumblings we have heard point at a (hopefully) quick return. The additional 30 days is giving politicians time to draft a broadly agreeable regulatory and tax structure for hemp that could be quickly passed if all goes to plan. So we are hopeful but preparing for the worst and in the meantime you get some great deals!
