Why so long? Traditional edibles are typically oil-based, meaning the cannabinoids are absorbed directly into your bloodstream. Alto cannabis-infused beverages are infused with a water-soluble formulation, meaning the cannabinoids are absorbed through your mouth then your tongue then the digestive tract. The immediate absorption in your mouth means you can feel the effects 10 to 15 minutes later. So while Alto is a low-dose beverage (3mg THC), consumers new to cannabis might feel effects more immediately or intensely. The perk of a faster onset? You’ll quickly know how you feel so you’re in control of your buzz. Take a few sips, wait 10-15 minutes, and adjust. We aim to allow all consumers – new or experienced – the ability to control their buzz. Plus, our 12oz cans include 5mg CBD to help balance the psychoactive effects of cannabis.

If you’re new to Alto or cannabis in general, here’s the basics: THC and CBD are cannabinoids found in hemp, a species of cannabis. Alto is intended to be a sessionable drink, meaning you can control and build your buzz. But everyone’s limit is unique to them. Alto has a mild amount of THC and CBD, commonly known as a microdose, so you can feel comfortable sipping your way into a light, slightly buzzy, sweet spot. There is no “recommended serving size” for microdosed cannabis drinks. Why? Because a lot of factors influence how you might experience the effects. The most influential is your cannabis tolerance and experience. Alto is infused with a microdose of cannabis –  3mg THC & 5mg CBD per each 12oz can and is intended to get you a just a little bit high. Alto is alcohol-free but said to feel similar to a glass of wine or beer: light, buzzy, and sociable without feeling out of control. Unlike alcohol, Alto won’t leave you feeling hungover. Keep the high, skip the low! However, effects and feelings will vary depending the individual’s unique cannabis tolerance. Alto beverages will keep on the shelf for 6 months or up to a year if refrigerated prior to opening.

Refrigeration is not required! However, Alto is best enjoyed cold. So pop it in the fridge or pour it over ice for the best experience!

All of Alto’s Beverages are homogeneous. This means the THC molecules are dispersed evenly throughout the can. Let’s say you get a 10mg but only want 5mg, drink half, reseal and put it in the fridge to enjoy later!
