Music Lineup

Allison Mahal * 12:00pm – 1:15pm

For Allison Mahal, life is like a room full of mirrors reflecting on life, family, creativity, and community. Raised in Chicago and nurtured by Nashville, she has spent years writing her inner narrative, and is ready to share it. Mahal’s silvery vocals spring from a deep well of admiration for her female songwriting heroes like Brandi Carlile, Carole King, and Sara Bareilles. Many hours spent at the piano in her childhood home playing their songs helped to shape her performative confidence and vulnerable yet universal lyricism. She was recently featured on NPR Music as well as American Songwriter. Her debut album “Not Over This Yet” is being released in May through Tone Tree Music. Allison’s live sets are rich with harmonies, insightful lyricism and good vibes.

Billy Bronsted & The Loot * 1:45pm – 3:00pm

Billy Bronsted and the Loot are a Progressive Americana trio from central Wisconsin. He and percussionist John Kneipp were both born and raised in Tomahawk, WI, where their love for music was definitely thought of as “unique.” Growing up in Tomahawk instilled strong values of hard work and the importance of family, grounding them and shaping the way they walk through their lives. Their sound reflects this peaceful upbringing; there is a characteristic storytelling and writing style that is second nature to them. The duo’s raw and aggressive percussion mixed with Bronsted’s diverse acoustic playing styles pulls the listener back through time. Their albums evoke the milieu of the backwoods, where campfire strumming sets the tone for well-crafted narratives. In 2008. Billy and John recorded their first series of demos as a duo with friends. Billy found himself working on multiple projects,  honing his talents and building his reputation in close collaboration with David Blessent, with whom he founded projects such as Linus and the Lute and One Strong Army. During this period, Bronsted crossed paths with many of his current collaborators.

Dennis Caravello * 3:30pm – 5:00pm

Dennis Caravello has a sound steeped in roots music and while his approach to songwriting stays true to most things modern, it is the music of yesterday that continues to fuel his craft. Dennis was born and raised just northwest of Chicago and now resides in Nashville, Tennessee. Growing up, Dennis took to music rather quickly. At the age of six he’d taken up guitar lessons and has since had trouble spending much time away from the instrument. As he neared the end of his days as a student at Rolling Meadows High School, he would be reintroduced to the blues and it has since had the greatest influence on his playing. Dennis attended Columbia College Chicago for two years where his love for blues, jazz, country and soul music continued to grow. In 2013 he chose to take a step away from school to take a deeper dive into song craft. After spending a handful of years performing in and around Chicago and its surrounding suburbs, Dennis decided to relocate to Nashville in the summer of 2018. In March of 2019, “The Way It Is”, his first full-length body of work, was released independently.

Wire & Nail * 5:30pm – 7:00pm

Nothing better than a Saturday Night in a Northwoods Tavern. Longnecks & Shooters. Darts & Pool. Romance & Good times. Wire & Nail. This tight combo from Milwaukee loves nothing better than to supply the soundtrack. Equal parts Honky Tonk and Rock n Roll, Wire & Nail have the chops to keep the evening rolling. Loaded like shotgun, the band comes stacked with tight harmonies, great tone, an on point rhythm section and enough swagger to back it up. Like many of their influences, Wire & Nail strive to write and perform music that is genuine, enjoyable, and unapologetic.  Their sophomore EP, “Northwoods Rambler,” was released in late 2019.

dak duBois * 7:30pm-9:00pm

Blending flavors of modern indie pop, 70’s funk/soul, and psychedelia of the ’60s/’70s, dak duBois uses his intricately guitar-infused melodies and well-placed chilled-out pop vocals to unfold anecdotes of a blurred psyche within a changing dynamic of society.  dak duBois is the solo project of Milwaukee-based artist Dak Wright. His self-titled album was written, recorded, mixed, and mastered in his apartment-turned-studio and released in April 2023. He performs live shows with a rotating cast of local musicians (dak duBois &co), where sets bring high crowd engagement, funk-driven jammy overtones, and memory-worthy experiences filled with high-level crowd engagement.  dubois’ single, ‘portland’, premiered on Radio Milwaukee, and his album was applauded as an ‘imaginative, colorful exercise” by Milwaukee’s Breaking and Entering. dubois’ latest album is available on all streaming platforms.
